Dear students!
Until your arrival in Kazan, all classes will be conducted in a remote format via the Yandex Messenger platform.
For successful integration into the academic process, please review the instructions below carefully.
Step 1
Install the application
Download and install the Yandex Messenger app on your smartphone or tablet. It is available in official app stores.
Step 2
Prepare the computer
For a comfortable learning experience, we recommend using a computer or laptop with a webcam and microphone.
Step 3
Wait for the invitation
Before the start of classes, your instructors will create chat groups for your study groups and add you to them. Please wait for the invitation.
Kazan Federal University issues a corporate account to every student for the purpose of accessing Yandex Messenger.
It is forbidden to create a new personal account on your own. If you create your own account, your instructors will not be able to find you and will not be able to add you to the study chat. You risk missing the start of classes!

For students enrolled in the Pre-Specialist programs in English (with studies starting in November) and the Pre-Master’s programs, information regarding group assignments and the orientation meeting will be posted later. Please monitor updates on the website and in your study chat.
Your instructor will inform you about the class schedule after the group assignments and orientation meetings have been completed.
Preparation for classes:
To help you feel more confident during your first classes, the instructors of the Preparatory Faculty have developed free online courses for you on the Stepik platform.
The courses will help you review or learn the basics of the Russian language: the alphabet, reading rules, and basic grammar. We recommend that you complete them before the start of your studies.
Part 1
Studying alphabet
Introduction to the Russian alphabet, pronunciation, and basic sounds. Perfect for complete beginners.
Part 2
Reading rules
Mastering the rules of reading, stress, and intonation. Learning to read meaningfully and without errors.
Part 3
Grammar basics
Basic grammatical structures, cases, and simple sentences. The foundation for further learning.
