The official visit of the Kazan Federal University (KFU) delegation, led by Vice-Rector for External Relations Timirhan Alishev, to the People’s Republic of China is ongoing.

Today, the Dean of the Preparatory School for International Students, Ayrat Mukhametov, and the Deputy Dean for Educational Activities, Rauf Sabirov, held meetings with students enrolled in the faculty’s network educational programs.

The educational programs involve the study of the Russian language and general education subjects at partner organizations in China based on KFU’s methodological developments, with the participation of university instructors.

These programs enable students to prepare for entrance exams for major educational programs without the need to travel to Russia. The visit program included visits to two educational institutions where joint training is implemented: Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shandong HuanyE School of Continuing Education.

The network program at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been in operation since last year. In 2023, the opening of the Preparatory School was attended by KFU Rector Lenar Safin.

“Currently, it is important to prepare foreign citizens for their arrival in Russia in advance: to teach them the Russian language, to introduce them to the traditions of Russia and Tatarstan, as well as to familiarize them with migration rules. The school’s online programs help address this task,” noted Ayrat Mukhametov.

In 2024, more than 1,000 foreign citizens were enrolled in the KFU Preparatory School, including over 150 students in distance and network programs.
