Beginning of Classes at the Preparatory Faculty of Kazan Federal University
Dear students,
We are pleased to inform you that classes at the Preparatory Faculty of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University will begin on November 3rd.
Format of Studies
For students in Kazan: classes will be held offline at the following addresses:
- 25/22, Kremlevskaya Street
- 12, Isaeva Street
For students outside Kazan: classes will be conducted online via Yandex Messenger.
Communication and Access to Yandex Messenger
- For communication and online lessons, we use Yandex Messenger.

- To log in, use your corporate login and password from your personal account.
- Your teacher will add you to a group chat in Yandex Messenger and will send you the class schedule there.
- If you study online, the teacher will connect with you via video call in Yandex Messenger according to the schedule.
Important Information
According to paragraph 59.9 of the “Rules for Admission to Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University”, the presence of additional education in supplementary general education programs corresponding to the competitive profile (that is, the Certificate of the Preparatory Faculty) grants an additional 5 competitive points when applying to the university.
To receive the certificate, you must pass all tests and exams with at least 56 points.
Grading System
The maximum number of points a student can receive per semester is 100, consisting of:
- 50 points for current academic performance (classroom work, attendance, tests, homework, etc.);
- 50 points for the final exam.
Evaluation scale:
- 86 points or more — Excellent
- 71–85 points — Good
- 56–70 points — Satisfactory
- 55 points or less — Unsatisfactory
The minimum passing score for the exam is 56.

Dormitory Accommodation Information for Students of the Preparatory Faculty for International Students

Dear Students of the Preparatory Faculty for International Students,
After receiving an invitation for the allocation of a dormitory bed space at Kazan Federal University (KFU) for the period of your studies, you must confirm your need for accommodation in your personal account by selecting «предоставить обязательно» in the designated field.
Afterwards, please submit a dormitory accommodation application through your personal account.
Travel and Notification Procedure
- After purchasing your tickets to the Russian Federation and to Kazan, you must send copies of the tickets to podfak.du@kpfu.ru no later than 10 days before arrival.
- This is necessary so that the staff responsible for accommodation can plan your check-in time and include you in the official dormitory accommodation order.
- Notification of your dormitory bed space allocation will appear in your personal account.
- For example: Вам предоставлено место в доме № 7, комн. № 205, ожидайте выхода приказа.
- After the official order for accommodation is issued, you will receive another notification confirming that you may move into the dormitory.
Stage 2 – Arrival and Documents
Upon arrival in the Russian Federation, you must prepare all required documents for check-in, including obtaining:
- A Voluntary Health Insurance Policy, and
- A Medical Certificate for Dormitory Accommodation.

Stage 3 – Dormitory Check-in
- When checking in to the dormitory, you must complete all required procedures.

- Required documents for check-in at KFU dormitories:
- Passport (original and 2 copies of the main page and visa)
- Medical insurance policy (original and 1 copy)
- Migration card (original and 1 copy)
- Blood test for RW (translated into Russian, valid for 14 days)
- Fluorography results from the past year (2 copies) — must include image number, institution stamp, certificate stamp, and doctor’s stamp
- Certificate from a dermatologist (translated into Russian, valid for 3 days)
- Medical report from a general practitioner (issued by GAUZ “City Polyclinic No. 21 ‘Student’”)
- Certificate of safety briefing (issued upon check-in)
- International student registration form (issued upon check-in)
- Clearance form (for graduates of the KFU Preparatory Faculty)
- Certificate of migration briefing (issued upon check-in)
- Three (3) photographs, size 3 × 4 cm

From Kazan Federal University and the city center:
- By metro: from “Ploshchad G. Tukaya” station to “Prospekt Pobedy” station, then buses № 5 or 77 to “Ulitsa Akademika Parina” stop.
- By bus: № 47 from “Ploshchad G. Tukaya” stop to “Universiade Village” stop; or № 74 from “Ploshchad G. Tukaya” metro stop to “Ulitsa Akademika Parina” stop.
- By trolleybus: № 8 from “Ploshchad G. Tukaya” metro stop to “Universiade Village” stop.
From Kazan International Airport:
- By bus № 197 to “Universiade Village” stop, then transfer to buses № 5 or 77 to “Ulitsa Akademika Parina” stop.
- By commuter train to “Kazan-Passazhirskaya” station, then bus № 74 from “Zheleznodorozhny vokzal” stop to “Ulitsa Akademika Parina” stop.
From “Kazan-Passazhirskaya” Railway Station:
- By bus № 74 from “Zheleznodorozhny vokzal” stop to “Ulitsa Akademika Parina” stop.
